B.B.Pradhan |
Hailing from a humble family of Mr. Ramlal and Mrs.
Lachhimaya Pradhan, Mr. Bhanu Bhakta Pradhan, pursued
his schooling from Kumidini Homes, Kalimpong. He
supported the family by working part-time and studying
simultaneously. He graduated in the year 1970 from
Kalimpong College. Thereafter, he served as an Upper
Division Clerk in The Royal Bhutanese Services and then
moved on to become a Government contractor in Kalimpong. Mr. B.B.Pradhan fondly nurtured an ambition to start a school to provide best possible and affordable education to the people from the hills. He finally translated his vision in reality by laying the foundation stone of Rockvale Academy on 11th March 1984. However, the founding of this institution coincided with the onset of the tumultuous Ghorkhaland Agitation. As a result of this, he reached the brink of financial disaster but he persevered. Today, Rockvale Academy has acquired the stature of being one of the premier co-educational institution in the North East with the remarkalble and envious records in the field of academics as well as co-curricular activities. The management, staff and students of Rockvale Academy have risen to the occasion to pay a befitting homage to their illustrious founding father by starting the Tertiary Division : B.B.Pradhan Management College. We dedicate ourselves to carry forward the glorious legacy to the farther horizon for the benefit of the generation to come. |
